Job Title: Property Maintenance Worker

Reports To: Property Maintenance and Coach Maintenance Manager

Location: Bryson City, NC

Compensation: $13-16/hr DOE

Job Summary: Responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of property buildings and grounds. Works as a team member of the property maintenance department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintenance of property grounds to include, but not limited to, trash pick-up for all property locations, cleaning/weeding/watering of flower beds and potted flowers.
• Clean property buildings. Buildings to include, but not limited to, Bryson City Public Restrooms, Dillsboro Public Restrooms and Bryson City Office Building.
• Set up and take down of boarding station and promotional signage daily.
• Set up and take down umbrellas at outdoor picnic area.
• Provide Golf Cart Assistance to passengers with special needs or mobility limitations.
• Set up deboarding barricades at museum.
• Transport supplies via golf cart to various departments as needed.
• Mows and weed eats property grounds.
• Perform minor building and equipment repairs.
• Participate in the construction, setup, and breakdown of event sites.
• Work as part of Property Maintenance Department to achieve Department goals/ projections.
• Other duties as requested by department manager and/or AHR/GSMR senior mgmt.

Work Environment:

• Cleaning tools- Mop, Mop Bucket, Brook, Vacuum, etc.
• Maintenance tools- weed eater, lawn mower, tractors, etc.
• Woodworking/construction tools- saws, drills, hammers, etc.
• Golf cart

Education, Skill and Work Experience Requirements:

• Must be able to communicate effectively.
• Must be able to interact effectively with coworkers and customers.
• 1-3 years of experience in janitorial/ maintenance setting preferred.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holiday hours.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must be able to successfully complete and achieve a passing score on a WorkSTEPS physical capability strength evaluation.
