Job brief
PROMO Applications, the event-based social network, is looking for a Software Developer to build and implement functional programs. You will work with other developers and Product Managers throughout the software development life cycle. The role also involves overseeing and developing junior/intern level developers as well as reviewing code and features.
In this role, you should be a team player with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills. This is a remote position.

• Educational background in coding/programming
• Teaching experience at a coding bootcamp - or - college/university (must have)

Responsibilities*

• Work with developers to design algorithms and flowcharts
• Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications
• Integrate software components and third-party programs
• Verify and deploy programs and systems
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software
• Gather and evaluate user feedback
• Recommend and execute improvements
• Develop interns and junior level developers
• Create technical documentation for reference and reporting
• Quality assurance (application, processes, documentation)
• Report bugs and errors to development teams
• Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality.
• Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing

Requirements and skills*

• Familiarity with front-end languages (e.g. HTML, JavaScript and CSS)
• Working knowledge of CMS framework
• Libraries: React Native Share, Stripe API
• Understanding of REST APIs, the document request model, and offline storage
• Excellent communication skills
• Proven experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer or similar role or developer educator
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
• Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment
• Knowledge of coding languages (e.g. C++, Java, JavaScript) and frameworks/systems (e.g. AngularJS, Git)
• Ability to learn new languages and technologies
• Excellent teamwork skills
• Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude
• Attention to detail
• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field preferred
