POSITION SUMMARY:

LAC Federal is seeking a Project Manager to work with our federal team to build and maintain strong program delivery for its clients. LAC Federal is a leading provider of library, information, and knowledge management services to the federal government. The Project Manager will lead and manage project planning, resourcing, supply, progress reporting, troubleshooting and project team management. Ensures project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule and cost. Solves technical and non-technical problems throughout the life of the project. Provides timely and accurate information and status updates to project sponsors, end users and management. Participates in budget development and evaluating how project plan changes impact cost and schedule.

This position is based in the DC area and includes on-site work. This is a full-time permanent position with benefits.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

Project Management Support:

  • Manage several projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
    Plan, manage, and track assigned projects to ensure adherence to schedule and scope of project for government customers
  • Provide direction to contract staff and monitor performance to assure that all contract requirements are met
  • Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; recommending actions
  • Set and track project milestones
  • Establish and implement communication plans
  • Provide project status reporting
  • Participate in periodic meetings with LAC Federal management team, contract staff, and government customers either remotely or in-person
  • Hire and onboard new personnel if needed to complete contract goals


Scheduling Support:

  • Develop, maintain, analyze, and update Microsoft Project Integrated Master Schedule
  • Collect schedule inputs and perform schedule analysis and updates as requested
  • Ensure all schedules are developed and maintained in alignment with client requirements
  • Engage with diverse stakeholders including executive leadership to review and update inputs/plans
  • Provide regular reporting and communication to client and management
  • Develop and maintain client relationships to support engagement delivery

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A minimum of three years of relevant work experience related to project management and integrated schedule support for federal customers
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related discipline from an accredited college/university
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) strongly preferred
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills particularly around management controls, schedules, and risk analysis, task interdependency
  • Experience creating and maintaining Schedules in Microsoft Project
  • Knowledge of project lifecycle methodologies
  • Demonstrated management experience of professional services projects
  • Experience in information science, libraries, knowledge management a plus (including cataloging and metadata)
  • Experience working independently on multiple assignments
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Proficiency in MS Project and advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and oral business communication skills


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to move from place to place within the location; lift, push/pull, hold/carry of items weighing up to (25) pounds and occasional up to (35) pounds such as files, books, stacks of paper, and other materials.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time and to maintain focus on projects such as computer screens or detailed paperwork.
