Principal Duties and Responsibilities of a Project Manager - Healthcare:
Leadership
- Direct and manage the internal and external design team from initial planning through construction administration
- Coordinates team’s work plans and evaluates team performance
- Contribute to a high level of energy and enthusiasm on the team, and foster a spirit of collaborative problem solving and design excellence
- Build strong relationships with staff, clients, and the communities we serve as a representative of Kahler Slater
- Communicates with internal and external team to ensure project success
Business Development
- Assist in proposal writing and fee processes
- Support the strategies and the implementation of marketing efforts
- Maintain relationships with past clients and win repeat work
Project Development
- Develop, manage, and maintain project goals (FDE, sustainability, financial, firm, marketing)
- Collaborates with financial services staff to manage financial performance
- Create, monitor, and control the project schedule
- Review contract and identify additional services
- Manage site entitlement process
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities of a Project Manager - Healthcare:
- 10+ years of experience as an architectural professional with experience and passion in Healthcare markets
- Professional degree in Architecture preferred
- Ability to develop architectural team project work plans, project fees, and budgets
- Successful team-orientation and collaboration behaviors
- Project management software skills, Deltek Vantagepoint preferred
- Working knowledge of Revit preferred
- Strong communications skills, spoken, written, and graphic
- Working knowledge of building construction and project delivery systems
- Efficiently responds to client needs
- Able to coach and be coachable
- Able to work effectively under pressure and within restrictive time deadlines and budget parameters while maintaining focus, positive attitude
Working relationships and scope for a Project Manager – Healthcare:
- Reports to Healthcare Team Leader
- Collaborates with other project managers and leads project team members
- Represents the firm in alignment with Kahler Slater’s core values
- Mentors staff members
Working conditions for a Project Manager:
Work is performed in a professional, collaborative, creative, open office environment. Great flexibility in your schedule is both required of you and returned to you due to our many project deadlines. Occasional overnight travel is expected as it relates to servicing clients and professional development.
