Position: Project Estimator (Construction Estimating)
JOB REF#: 1169297
Duration: 6-12 Months (Contract)
Location: Georgetown, KY 40324 (ONSITE)
Rate: Open/Market Rate (W2 ONLY)

A global company is seeking to hire a Project Estimator in Georgetown, KY. All work will be performed onsite. If you are not local, you must relocate at your own expense.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop project estimates for building construction, renovation, or improvements of industrial and commercial buildings
  • Perform cost analysis of projects currently proposed or recently completed using conceptual designs or engineered drawings.
  • Support project planning and construction management teams bid analysis, change order and option selection.
  • Continue development of unit costs from current and historical projects and support estimating software development,
  • Work collaboratively with all levels including executive managers, technical experts, and construction managers.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
  • Able to travel 10 % domestic and some International travel to Canada and Mexico.
  • Must have project estimating for construction in commercial and/or industrial buildings
  • Technical knowledge of design/building construction engineering and schedule management
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to create budgetary estimates based on a conceptual scope of work with few drawings available.
  • Ability to analyze contractor bids to locate potential scope gaps.
  • Ability to analyze completed project data to build historical comparisons with conceptual projects in development
  • Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook/MS Teams, MS Project)
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in either Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Mgmt majors

Desired/Nice To Have Exp:
  • Construction Management, Engineering or similar degrees, or equivalent experience and training.
  • Experience with estimating software (ProEst, Acubid, Planswift, etc)
  • General understanding of construction safety programs and requirements.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD / Bluebeam or other drawing and take-off software
