To develop business opportunities and ensure that products and services meet the required quality standards, by designing and developing new, or modification of existing, products to meet actual or anticipated future customer needs.
The position is one of the main points of contact for the Product Development / Product Line Groups and Customer Services team who determine the product requirements, as well as Manufacturing and their support team for making the products in line with the design parameters determined by Engineering. The role is measured by the successful leading of assigned engineering projects, and accurate interpretation of product specification into effective designs/drawings that can be used to manufacture the products against time and quality requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities
Produces engineering analysis and modelling including developing new models or completing complex rework of existing models- Demonstrates engineering application and practice including project time target and completion date with a complex tool, process, or sub-assembly
- Utilizes engineering knowledge and theory with engineering analysis from at least two different engineering topics
- Understands project planning and breakdown to include project risk, contingency plans, and dependencies, participates in team discussions defining list of project tasks and their time estimates, and understands and utilizes project phases, gates, and checkpoints
- Demonstrates strong product knowledge, demonstrated ability to identify and initiate working relationship with the customers, and ability for hands-on engineering and tool operation principles with minimum supervision
- Creates and develops product designs based on the design system applicable to product line, and ensures that they comply with the relevant regulations
Qualifications:
REQUIRED
- Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering or engineering technology discipline
- 5-8+ years related work experience
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work well with all levels of personnel.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering.
PREFERRED
- Knowledge of the energy industry in multiple segments.
- Experience designing in Autodesk Inventor/AutoCAD and or Creo Parametric
