Summary

Project directors have overall responsibility for the successful conclusion of construction projects. They oversee project managers, who coordinate teams to ensure that work is completed on time and within budget, to a high standard. Project directors provide leadership to strategically manage risk, monitor finances and ensure each phase of work is started or completed on time.

Job Functions

• Overseeing the entire construction process, from project planning to completion
• Scheduling work crews so that projects are completed on time and within budget
• Managing budgets and costs throughout the course of a project
• Meeting regularly with owners and stakeholders to discuss project status and resolve issues and conflicts
• Assigning tasks to others based on job requirements and qualifications
• Coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other staff members
• Supervising workers to ensure that projects meet safety standards and are completed on time
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with clients to keep them informed of progress and address any concerns

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field position.

15 or more of construction experience in public works contracting.

10 more of direct supervisory experience.

Experience with project manager software

Experience with cost projection, financial analysis, budget reviews, labor reports.
