Business Profile: Pacific Mobile Structures is an established second-generation family-owned modular construction and rental company with a 40+ year consistent track record in the industry. Pacific Mobile has over 200 employees and 3.5 million square feet of rentable modular office space with operations throughout the Western and Southern United States. The company has an opportunity for a qualified and experienced Project Accountant to join our accounting team. In this position you will work closely with our Construction Services division to grow modular construction sales to over $100 million in 2023 and over $125 million in the next couple of years.

Base Pay Range: $80,000 - $95,000, DOE
Bonus Opportunities: Additional target KPI bonus and discretionary end of year bonus opportunities
Profit Sharing: Additional discretionary 401k Profit Sharing contributions
Total Compensation Range: $92,500 to $110,000

Open to candidates living in the following areas: within a commutable distance from Pacific Mobile branches located in Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Texas. Up to $5,000 relocation assistance available to these areas. Open to hybrid in-office/remote schedule.

In this role you will be responsible for:
  • Project Set-ups: Upon award of new projects, review contracts and proposals, and set-up projects in accounting system.
  • Project Budgeting: Provide ad-hoc support to Project Managers in budgeting, billing projections, and financial analysis.
  • Responsible to file affidavits and bonds with appropriate state agencies.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the schedule of values for each job is updated and accurate.
  • Project Forecasting: Work with Project Mangers on their forecasting and project accruals for Estimated Cost at Completeness and revenue recognition.
  • Project Billing: Work with Project Managers on a monthly and or as "needed basis" to process invoices in accordance with contract requirements and billing instructions. Review monthly project detail to ensure appropriateness of billings.
  • Project Compliance: responsible for reporting project payroll, certified payroll and other project compliance such as L&I intents, affidavits, CA DIR, LCP Tracker
  • Assist Project Managers/Coordinators to resolve any issues that arise throughout the project, including purchase orders, project and customer change orders.
  • A/P Support: Work with Project Managers and AP Department to collect required vendor set up documents and compliance support documents as needed.
  • A/R Support: Assist/prepare customer billings and project collections.
  • Audit Support: Support year-end and ad-hoc audits. Prepare supporting schedules and documentation.
  • Prepare and enter direct job costs and accrual entries for the allocations and costs based on percentage of completion.
  • Backup for project title transfers.
  • Process Improvement: Continually work to identify and implement more efficient procedures and use of resources to improve workflow while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Other Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Skills / Requirements:
  • 2 to 4 years of Construction Accounting experience (required).
  • Job Cost Accounting and WIP experience (required).
  • Knowledge and understanding of US GAAP and compliance (required).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred).
  • Public works experience (preferred).
  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics accounting software and Customer Engagement software (preferred).
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.

  • Excellent communication, data collection, data analysis, and evaluation skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.

  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Intermediate to Expert Microsoft Excel skills
