Summary

Designs and analyzes business requirements and develops software applications by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Design and suggest innovative changes in application systems.
  • Review user requirements and needs for new software and perform analysis, design, implementation, installation, and training related to new software development and/or acquisition.
  • Develop/test databases, programs, and procedures necessary to integrate and/or implement with existing systems.
  • Perform full range of works related to application analysis, design, documentation, and programming.
  • Provide technical advice and support to users. This includes creating ad-hoc reports, data analysis, corrections, training, and problem solving.
  • Run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purpose of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging
  • Assist in developing application modifications to enhance functionality; creates and updates documentation for applications and may provide training to users on new or changed processes.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology, programming skills, hardware, and applications. Participate in professional development activities as appropriate.
  • Participate in weekly on-call responsibilities (rotating schedule).

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree; and four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 4+ years experience in analysis, design, programming, and debugging business applications
  • Proficient with JavaScript, SQL HTM, and XML
  • Experience with ILE RPG, CLP/CLLE, DB2, and MS-SQL
  • Experience with data exchange protocols such as SFTP, JSON, Web Services, etc.
  • Application experience in the food and beverage industry preferred
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, probability, and statistical inference
  • Knowledge of IDEs (e.g., Rational Developer, Eclipse, etc.), program/object analysis tools (e.g., X-Analysis, Hawkeye, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Accounting system, Human Resource systems, Internet/Intranet applications, Inventory systems, Warehouse management Systems, Ordering/Invoicing applications, office suites, project management, collaboration software (e.g., MS Teams, MS Power BI, etc.)
  • Knowledge of user application portals (e.g., Valence Universal Portal)
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate evening, weekend and/or overnight events

Satisfactory experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
