Denver Human Services is seeking two supportive, determined and detail-oriented individuals to serve as Program Quality Assurance Technicians within the Performance Improvement and Accountability Division (PIAD). In these positions offered, you will be providing oversight and monitoring of Denver Human Services eligibility and assistance program operations to verify adherence to program requirements, develops plans for maintaining quality program results and initiates corrective action when required for the Long-Term Care, SNAP, Colorado Works, Medicaid, Adult Financial, and CCCAP.
The Program Quality Assurance Technician:
- Reviews internal programs to verify compliance with federal and state rules and regulations and adherence to county procedures and practices as well as detect and assess operational errors, risks and fraud
- Identifies, evaluates and analyzes adverse quality trends that may impact program effectiveness and funding
- Monitors and reviews multiple state/county systems and reports to assess anomalies and inconsistencies in program and business practices and processes
- Researches program rules and regulations and works with federal/state program staff to understand and clarify proper application
- Prepares and presents written reports and communications (both formal and informal) that summarize internal program review findings as well as recommend corrective course of actions
- Evaluates existing methods, procedures and/or processes, identifies problem areas and assists management in the development of improvement plans to achieve quality goals and increase effectiveness
- Monitors the progress of improvement plans and efforts of staff to produce quality results and maintain program integrity and funding
- Uses program knowledge expertise to provide guidance, training and direction to management and program staff on preventing repeat errors and reducing exposure to sanctions
- Coordinates and facilitates multiple external audits including scheduling, reviewing case files, gathering documents, explaining programs and cases, researching and rebutting audit findings, monitor progress and completions of all corrective action plans (CAPs), and preventing future unfavorable findings
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
About You
Our ideal candidate will have:
- At least 4 years of experience (current experience) determining eligibility for SNAP, Medicaid and one of the other public assistance programs: Colorado Works, Adult Financial, Long Term Care (LTC), and Colorado Child Care Program (CCCAP)
- Experience with case file auditing
- The ability to work independently
- The ability to provide and receive productive feedback
- Excellent customer service skills
- The ability to collaborate with other teams, divisions, and the State as needed
- The ability to present/facilitate in large groups settings
- Great organizational skills
- The ability to adapt to change easily and be flexible
- The ability to be part and contribute to a positive work atmosphere, which include exemplifying an equitable diversified and inclusive work environment
- Must be willing to work a hybrid model as we are not working 100% remotely

- Education: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate
- Experience: Four (4) years experience working with adult assistance programs, explaining policies, and relating them to specic problems
- Education & Experience Equivalency: A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements
