AES, Inc is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to work on site at the NAVALUNDERWATER CENTER DIVISION NEW PORT (NUWCDIVNPT), Rhode Island. This position will execute the role as a Senior Technical Representative designated to manage the overall contract effort and serve as the primary point of contact with the NUWCDIVNPT Contract Office Representative.

The Senior Technical Representative will manage the manufacturing facility located at NUWCDIVNPT. The services include design and drafting, gauging/dimensional inspection, and a wide spectrum of machining, welding, fabricating, assembly, and painting of mechanical components.

This position will oversee and manage the manufacturing facility and supporting all programs of record across the NUWCDIVNPT product lines that require manufacturing and engineering of prototype and production mechanical widgets.

This type of manufacturing facility is different from a production manufacturing environment like an automobile plant which can forecast and align its infrastructure to steady state tasking. A job shop is a type of manufacturing process in which small batches of a variety of custom products are made. In the job shop process flow, most of the products produced require a unique set-up and sequencing of process steps. Generally speaking, the types of widgets produced relates to Navy shipboard and shore based systems, both legacy and experimental. The types of end products supported include antennas, sensors, SONAR systems, special projects, unmanned systems (aerial, surface, undersea), torpedoes (light and heavyweight), missiles, launchers, and periscopes for all classes of U.S. Naval vessels, both surface and submarine. In addition to the actual products described above, test fixtures and unique experimental or quality assurance items are also manufactured to further the science of, and validate the production of, these products.

Minimum Qualifications

· Must be a U.S. Citizen.

· Must have a Valid Driver License.

· Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and pass any medical examination requirements related to performing the task.

· Must Pass pre-employment and post-employment drug testing.

· Must Pass pre-employment background check.

· Must be able to obtain and maintain access to Military Installations.

· Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

· Must have a completed a degree in Engineering

· Must have a documented minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing a manufacturing facility.

Pay: $103,990.00 - $140,000.00 per year
