Over the last 68 years, SVdP has grown from a volunteer-led non-profit to the largest human services agency in Lane County with more than 600 employees. We are seeking a Program Manager for our Youth and Family Services department who is committed to our staff as well as the families we are serving.

This department provides emergency low-barrier shelter services to families with children ages 0-18 years of age. Youth and Family Service programs provide critical assistance and support to families who are in crisis due to homelessness, job loss, health issues, or other areas that impact housing and economic stability.

We aim to meet the immediate needs of families as well as promote self-sufficiency by providing wraparound services including access to basic needs, case management, community referrals, and other individualized supports.

This position also provides direct interaction and support to families, staff, and community members as they seek engagement with YFS programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervise and mentor staff working in day access and night shelter programs using a strength-based model to promote a healthy work culture.
  • Supports families and staff in order to create a healthy and peaceful environment.
  • Coordinates with staff to ensure administrative staff and director are informed of all program-related matters.
  • Provide daily guidance to staff around best practices for working with families in crisis. This will include evening and on-call hours.
  • Coordinate daily schedules
  • Assist staff in communicating and enforcing family agreements to maintain safety.
  • Coordinate with partner agencies
  • Coordinate with Director to ensure all program rules and requirements, including program documentation and budget monitoring, are being met.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills
  • Exhibits ability to multitask consistently under pressure.
  • Pay close attention to details
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)
  • Demonstrates familiarity with basic office equipment such as desktop, laptop, and phone
  • Able to take dictation, compose letters, written responses, agendas, minutes, etc.
  • Works well with individuals from varied socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds
  • Demonstrated experience in applicable social service field. This includes working with individuals and families as in a community-based social service venue
  • Self-motivated, and ability to work independently
  • Nonjudgmental approach to a wide range of individuals and lifestyles 
  • Demonstrate appropriate professional boundaries
  • Solid knowledge of community resources and/or a willingness to network and learn

Job Requirements:  

Education in social work, related field, or relevant experience. Bi-lingual Spanish/English Preferred
