Job Summary: The Program Manager for the Early Childhood Development and Intervention Center (CDC) is responsible for assisting the Senior Program Manager in promoting a healthy, positive, safe, stimulating and structured environment for all children, families and staff. The Program Manager will also ensure delivery of a high-quality instructional programs and overall operation of the Child Development Center (CDC) including: curriculum implementation in classrooms, staff training and development, student enrollment, parent and community relations, billing and ensuring financial accounts are maintained in a timely manner.
Supervisory Responsibility: Directly supervises up to 10 Teacher Assistants (TA).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages and oversees the administrative and daily operations of the program in support of overall program goals and objectives, to include assisting in classroom.
- Coordinates and manages classroom instruction by supporting teachers with preparing relevant materials and coordinating the application of available resources in the implementation of curriculum plans.
- Supports Senior Program Manager with conducting monthly staff meetings, encouraging opportunities for team building, providing support for teachers, and maintaining staff and client records.
•Implements strategies to recruit and maintain enrollment, to include, completing the enrollment process and application with families. • Completes the intake process for the CDC and Pre-K program.
- Works closely with staff in the development, implementation and accuracy of Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP)/Individual Educational Plan (IEP) goals and objectives. This includes coordinating and facilitating meetings when necessary.
- Conducts regular reviews for accountability and program performance.
- Assists the Sr. Program Manager with preparation for the annual budget and program applications for the program.
- Attends OSSE trainings and meetings.
- Submits monthly billing for all funding sources in a timely manner.
- Collaborates with the Sr. Program Manager regarding parent and community communications.
- Acts as the Sr. Program Manager in his/her absence to include supervision of all CDC staff.
Requirements
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Education, Human Development or a related field with 15 credits in early childhood education.
- Seven (7) years of relevant experience with at two (2) years of classroom experience working with children with special needs.
SKILLS and COMPETENCIES:
- Knowledge of management principles and practices.
- Knowledge of budgeting and fiscal management principles.
- Knowledge of contracts and grants preparation and management.
- Program planning and implementation skills.
- Knowledge of educational laws.
- Ability to read and interpret test instruments, guides and academic literature.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both in written and oral form.
- Proficient in MS Office Software.
- DC EGMS, OCTO and attendance program experience.
- Ability to utilize technology based IEP system.
- Ability to redirect students in crisis.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentially.
- Ability to supervise and train employees as well as lead and motivate a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both in written and oral form.
- Must possess a full, valid, local, driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record.
