The Lake County YMCA is looking for a Program Instructor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Leads members in programming in accordance with YMCA guidelines, and have the program prepared and organized prior to start of class
• Builds effective, authentic relationships with students and parents; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA. Encourages parent involvement and identifies potential volunteers.
• Conveys information on youth/ adult programs, schedules and as appropriate refers students and parents to other programs.
• Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.)
• Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled
• Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports, as necessary.
• Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged equipment.
• Trains and supervises class aides as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 15 years of age
• Experience in one or more sports a plus
• Responsible and dependable a must

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Light work. Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to raise voice in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
Ability to stand, sit, stoop, kneel, and crouch frequently throughout the work shift. Walk throughout the facility and climb stairs occasionally. Have visual acuity to determine safety, security and assessment of participant’s movements. Receive detailed information through sound as well as express through spoken word.
