Program Counselor
Job Description
At Ransomed Life, exploited and "at-risk" youth and their families receive counseling services to equip and empower them for experiencing freedom and purpose. This position is for full time licensed clinician
(Texas license) to provide individual, family, and group counseling to our participants as well as aid in the development and function of mentors.
Program Counselor Responsibilities
- Utilize victim-centered, as well as strength-based and evidence-based approaches while maintaining high standards of confidentiality in individual, family, and group counseling and treatment planning
- Provide crisis intervention in providing supportive care and/or referral for needs
- Develop and/or facilitate groups for participating adolescents, parents/guardians, and mentors
- Maintain comprehensive counseling files, records, and case notes
- Collaborate with parents/guardians and partnering agencies regarding the treatment, well-being, and functioning of assigned clients
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and court hearings as necessary
- Gather data for submitting quarterly reports
- Adhere to the guidelines as court mandated reporter
- Maintain flexibility as schedule may fluctuate with special events
- Open communication with other Ransomed Life staff members and board of directors
- Reports to Lead Program Counselor
Program Counselor Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Counseling Psychology, or other degree meeting eligibility requirement in Texas for licensure as LPC, LPC-A, LCSW, or LMFT
- Licensed in the state of Texas
- At least two-years experience working with sexual abuse victims
- Clinician will have experience conducting family and group psychoeducation and/or therapy sessions
- Effectively communicate in oral and written form
- Able to adapt to changing work priorities with frequent interruptions
- Training and experience in evidence-based trauma therapies such as TF-CBT, DBT, and TBRI
- Has a good understanding of the dynamics of sexual exploitation on youth, risk factors for youth
- Recommended experience: o Bilingual in Spanish

Pay: $26.00 - $35.00 per hour
