Description

The Program Clinician is a member of an interdisciplinary team that supports the well-being and optimal functioning of adults living with serious mental illness. The Program Clinician is highly adaptive and flexible, with strong communication skills, and a desire to be an active member of an interdisciplinary team.

The Program Clinician takes the lead in providing clinical consultation and training during staff meetings, works closely with the Program Manager to ensure therapeutic integrity and as a member of the interdisciplinary team, ensures the whole-person care of our residents. There is an opportunity for the Program Clinician to provide direct service for the residents in the areas of individual supportive counseling and skill building groups. Typical documentation duties include assessments, residential service plans, progress notes, and continued stay reviews.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in related field with current LCSW or LCPC licensure is preferred, conditionally licensed candidates will be considered based on experience.
  • Three to four years’ experience in working with people with serious mental illness.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong collaborative skills and ability to lead by example.
  • High ethical standards and thoughtful decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to integrate assessments and observations into treatment.
  • Cultural competency and the ability to teach others utilizing a variety of approaches.
  • Knowledge and skills in current evidence-based practices used to promote recovery and resiliency in adults living with serious mental illness, to include knowledge of a psychosocial rehabilitation, co-occurring disorders, community resources, and client rights.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including proficiency in computer skills. Experience in utilizing an electronic health record is preferred.
  • Valid Maine driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable vehicle is required.
  • Per the state of Maine regulations, all behavioral health employees will be required to submit proof of immunization records upon employment for the following: MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu and COVID-19.
