The primary work schedule for this full-time position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE/RECOVERY ACTIVITIES
- Determines eligibility of clients for possible EHEAP assistance following strict application guidelines. Conducts client home visits, as needed.
- Performs data entry into the application tracking system and State CIRTS system.
- Maintains all applicant client file records for the assistance programs.
- Processes HCRA claims from out of county hospitals following strict applicant / state guidelines.
- Maintains multiple tracking spreadsheets and documents for the programs.
- Reviews Indigent Burial request packets from Funeral Homes for reimbursement.
- Handles sensitive, confidential records and information pertaining to clients.
- Prepares and submits timely invoices to Accounts Payable for payments relating to financial assistance programs.
- Responds timely to requests, inquiries, and problems, often via telephone, from citizens and co-workers and provides assistance in their resolution.
- Provides administrative support to Support Services Director and Accounting Supervisor.
- Performs other duties as required.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent, and formal training, special courses or self-education that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of one (1) year of college education, or specialized advanced training in accounting.
- Six (6) months relevant experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration, Skills
- Valid Florida Driver License (or must obtain within 30 days of establishing residency in Florida), or valid Florida Identification Card is acceptable only for positions not required to drive a county vehicle.
- Successful completion of Level II Background screening is required.
- Requires ability to maintain courteous and effective relations with County staff, elected officials, community interest groups and the public.
- Must have strong working knowledge of computers and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of Products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) including extensive knowledge and experience with Excel functions and detailed spreadsheets.
- Must have or be able to obtain within 90 days certification in FEMA National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses:
- IS-100.c: Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS); and
- IS-700.b: An Introduction to the National Incident Management System
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Requires a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
- The job involves frequent lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 20 pounds.
- The job requires frequent bending and balancing, and on occasion squatting, kneeling, twisting, and reaching above shoulders.
- The job requires the completion of tasks that involves simple grasping, pushing, pulling, fine manual manipulation, and typing.
- The job requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, depth perception and color vision, hearing, and speaking.
