Cedar Springs Public Schools is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Program Assistant assigned to the Cedar View MICI classroom. This is a paraprofessional position which provides support to the instructional program with specific responsibility for assisting in the supervision, care, and instruction of students with special needs; assisting in implementing plans for instruction; monitoring student behavior; providing information to appropriate school personnel. The position is covered under the terms of the agreement with the IUOE.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School graduate
• Current CPR Certification or willing to obtain CPR certificate
• CPI training
• Evidence of skills with behavior management
• Demonstrates dependability and promptness
• Understanding, patient, warm and receptive attitude toward elementary students
• Ability to assume responsibility for supervising students
• Ability to maintain cooperative working relationship with students, staff, parents and the general public with the understanding that confidentiality should be exhibited

Cedar Springs Public Schools is a Preschool through 12th-grade public school consisting of over 3,500 students and nearly 400 employees. We are located within the city limits of Cedar Springs, Michigan in Kent County. Cedar Springs Public Schools is one of 20 member public school districts within the Kent Intermediate School District (KISD).
