The AIGH Health Informatics team is engaged in facilitating a national health information system (NHIS) for Guyana. The program assistant will be a part of and support the Global Health Informatics staff with projects supporting our NHIS efforts. This individual will work with team members to develop and review documents, including project plans, technical proposals and evaluations, analyses, and documents for the Guyana Ministry of Health (MOH). The staff member will collaborate with health informatics colleagues and other Guyana consultancy team members in areas of health and technology workforce strategy, health systems strengthening, and related domains as they emerge from the larger teamwork products. The program assistant will be exposed to and collaborate with Mount Sinai and MOH personnel.
The program assistant reports to the Director of Global Health Informatics.
This is a part-time position in support of the Global Health Informatics team currently engaged in developing a national health information system for Guyana.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Function as part of the Global Health Informatics team
- Collaborate with both health informatics colleagues and other Guyana consultancy team members in areas of:
o health systems strengthening; and
o related domains as they emerge from the larger team work products.
- Work with team members to develop and review documents including:
o technology proposals and evaluations
o analyses; and
o documents for the Guyana Ministry of Health (MOH).
- Participate in team, client, and departmental meetings as required
- Other project-related activities as assigned
Requirements:
A BS is required and Master degree is preferred.
Experience:
Experience with understanding the intersection of social science, informatics, and applied environments.
- Interest in pursuing a career in health care, health informatics, and/or global health
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Strategic thinker with strong analytic, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work under guidance, take ownership of responsibilities, and meet deadlines
- Able to work productively independently and in a team environment
- Able to meet agreed upon deadlines
- Strong communication skills, oral and written, and presentation skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Able to work remotely or on site at Mount Sinai as may be required
- At least two years college towards an undergraduate degree
- 0-2 years of related experience or prior experience in any health care environment

Compensation
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $46,000.12 - $70,005.89 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
