V&S Galvanizing, LLC has over 100 years of experience in Hot Dip Galvanizing, and we are the leader in the steel coating industry. Today we operate over 30 galvanizing plants in the U.S. and Europe, featuring exceptional service to small fabricators as well as companies known worldwide.

We are currently searching for an experienced individual for our Production/Plant Supervisor position at our V&S New York Galvanizing facility in Owego, NY.

This individual will primarily be responsible for leading the production team in a coordinated way to achieve all high-quality production products safely and cost-effectively. Ability to direct personnel towards maximum performance will set you apart as a leader. Decision-making and problem-solving will take up a great part of your day. The goal is to ensure an efficient and productive manufacturing process that meets customer requirements, all while ensuring applicable safety rules and standards are adhered to.

Responsibilities:

• Independently and effectively manage a diverse workforce under the ultimate direction of the Operations Manager.
• Meet and exceed production goals/quotas/labor efficiency rates.
• Work in tandem with the Operations Manager, QA/QC, and Team Leads to establish and maintain production procedures to ensure a high standard of manufacturing operations, product quality, and reliability.
• Evaluate performance of production personnel (line leads, workers etc.).
• Track inventory items – Byproducts and items needed to produce finished goods.

Experience and Skills:

• Production Experience: 5 years (Preferred)
• Supervisory: 3 years (Preferred)
• Solid knowledge of current health and safety regulations. (OSHA 40 is a plus/A+)
• Knowledge of the steel industry is a PLUS/A+. Knowledge of the coatings industry AA +. Knowledge of galvanizing experience AAA+.
• Self-motivated with a positive “can do” attitude to make things happen.
• Strong execution skills combined with nurturing leadership skills.
• Desire to improve one's knowledge and skills on an ongoing basis. (AGA courses will be made available.)
• Excellent communication and supervisory skills.
• Strong PC skills and must be proficient in Microsoft Word / Excel.
• Excellent Math Skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
