Purpose:
The Production Supervisor ensures that production of products and operation of machinery meets or exceeds efficiency and company quality standards. This position will focus on the facility’s safety, quality, customer service, on-time delivery and cost.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance to ISO 9000 (QMS), 14001(EMS), and 18001 (OSHAS)
- Accomplish manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating and enforcing systems, policies and procedures
- Maintain staff by orienting and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities
- Maintain work flow by monitoring steps of process, observing equipment, monitoring personnel, studying methods; implementing cost reductions; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress, revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results
- Maintain quality by enforcing company standards and ensure products are produced to quality specifications
- Ensure operation of equipment; call for repairs
- Provide manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting and analyzing production performance/data; answering questions and responding to requests
- Communicate and maintain procedures and operating practices and record-keeping systems
- Maintain safe, clean work environment through educating and directing personnel on the use of all equipment and resources; maintain compliance with established policies and OSHA procedures
- Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications; participating in team-building activities
- Continuous safety training and education of crew
- Communicate with Maintenance Department to maintain equipment
Entrance Requirements:
1. 5 plus years manufacturing experience required (paper experience preferred).
2. Effectively utilize computer-based applications (Microsoft Word, Excel and SAP)
3. Excellent organizational and interpersonal relationship skills required.
4. Demonstrated ability to lead and participate in team based activities.
