Production Supervisor Job at Sika
Supervisors are expected to:
1. Ensure that they and all employees wear the proper PPE (Safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, hearing protection as needed)
2. Perform floor walks looking for safety issues and correct immediately if possible and/or communicate issue with the appropriate people
3. Ensure employees follow company safety rules
4. Communicate daily with on-coming shift supervisor(s) before leaving the facility. This includes current production status, employee issues, delivery requirements
5. Review employee attendance points and document attendance points every week
6. Complete daily Layered Process Audits (LPAs) using the EASE application
7. Know the critical part characteristics and take a final decision to send to Customer and document the decision in the Quality Deviation log book
8. Monitor and ensure Team Leads/ Head Packer are performing the proper first/ last piece part inspections, part weight scale checks and make the proper part thickness adjustments, pack out the correct part qty and use the correct packaging and container labeling according to Packcat
9. Know the daily and shift output goals by Line and document causes for deficiencies
10. Assist all line Team Leads and crews
11. Be the management representative on the off-shift and make appropriate decisions and document the rationale, including discipline up to sending employee home
12. Ensure coverages needed by moving other line/ dept employees and communicate this decision to the current line/ dept supervisor
13. Support shift team huddles and share responsibility of communication
14. Ensure that daily shift report logs are properly documented before entering data info into excel log sheet located in the production folder (Teams)
15. Approve X4 schedule run deviations and communicate to the Scheduling Dept
16. Lead cost savings initiatives by monitoring/ controlling production consumption such as Glue, ABA, Recycle material
17. Set the example for employee behavior, attendance, and professionalism
18. Support other Line supervisors (Big picture) to ensure smooth production runs
19. Support employee training plans and document progress results (Employee skills matrix)
20. Communicate with Maintenance personnel to get the proper feedback on current line issues and what needs to happen next
21. Ensure line startup and shutdown procedures are followed by inspecting the line
22. Lead the effort for line cleanliness and support the 5S initiative
23. Support Production manager by communicating Line issues that need to be addressed to improve production line performance
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $62,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
