Overview:
Responsible and accountable for the shift level coordination and direction of all production activity toward the achievement of maximum efficiency of operations with the assurance of producing quality products.
Qualifications:
  • Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree in related discipline preferred
  • Two years prior supervisory experience in manufacturing industry required
  • Must be able to work independently and/or on a team in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and systematic approach to problem solving is required.
  • Must exhibit strong leadership skills and ability to train, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Must demonstrate ability to understand, interpret, and explain complex sets of data.
  • Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodology, highly preferred
  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts, as required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Must be able to frequently stand, walk, kneel, reach, climb, pull, and bend with full range of body motion.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 60 pounds.
Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to work in a wet environment. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals. Exposure to nut allergens.
Responsibilities:
  • Supervise, lead, and mentor hourly production employees.
  • Provide assistance to Production Manager as it relates to training, improving efficiency of production operations, data evaluation, effective and efficient utilization of equipment and people, and process optimization.
  • Prioritize hourly production employee workload, assisting Production Manager in scheduling and assessing performance.
  • Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, identify and implement opportunities to improve processes.
  • Comply with and enforce all company work and safety rules and regulatory compliance rules and regulations.
  • Use and enforce use of all personal protective equipment in compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Develop and maintain a positive, productive relationship with supply chain leadership team.
  • Partner with all functional departments to ensure meeting business unit and company safety, service, cost, and people goals.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
  • Follow and enforce all Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Follow and enforce all safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Wear and enforce wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Follow and enforce all food safety and quality system requirements by committing to meet all pertinent regulatory, customer and Safe Quality Foods (SQF) requirements.
