Stellant Systems is seeking a full-time, 100%
onsite Production Planning Associate Manager at our Torrance, CA site. Our ideal candidate will have prior administrative experience. This position is for someone looking growth professionally in their next role. This position is responsible for the proper use and functioning of the mainframe ERP manufacturing planning systems. This includes MRP, production work order release, material allocations, BOM’s, capacity and load planning, and project and work center execution. Supervision of daily activities of production planners. This role is for a hands-on person with great attention to detail and excellent people skills.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Reviews the MRP (Material Requirements Planning) reports daily, validates the output for accuracy and initiates corrective action for discrepant issues
- Interface with Purchasing to resolve due date and shortage issues prior to work order release
- Reviews MEP and Reports Net reports daily for action. Reports to include MRP exception message report, Allocation of Excess Inventory Report, Open Work Order Report, Work Center Labor and Dispatch Report, and Project Shortage Report.
- Manages the work order process to include revision control, material availability, work order release, start and completion date maintenance, material allocation changes, Work Center Labor requirements, material, and labor variances analysis, and released BOM’s and routers.
- Assist Work Center in dispatch report management and execution, work order prioritization and schedule management.
- Assistant in generating production schedules and Work Center capacity load schedules.
- Notify the Master Scheduler when available resources do not support the production plan (MPS) or meeting the contract date is at risk.
- Leads, directs, ad reviews the work of production planners to maintain workflow and productivity and ensure company’s objectives are achieved.
- Acts as System’s leader and champions moderate improvements to processes, systems, and solutions.
- Maintains and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Maintains master data accuracy (planning related).
- Review and maintain customer backorder and lead time and schedule attainment.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 6 years prior relevant experience or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior experience.
- Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects, tactics, and employees within a team. Typically has strong knowledge and skills within a specified technical discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.
- Must have basic understanding of blueprint readings and interpretation of documentation used in the fabrication and production of electro-mechanical productions.
- Must be computer literate and possess the acumen to quickly learn the ERP Manufacturing Planning System as it relates to Production Control and Inventory Management.
- Must be capable of generating moderately complex spreadsheets and reports utilizing Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables) and Microsoft Word
- Must have a complete understanding of ERP Manufacturing Planning Systems primarily MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and MRP-II.
- Experience and understanding of requirements in the requisitioning, purchasing, stocking, control, and issuance of inventory.
- Possess a personable and approachable demeanor
- Detail oriented and ability to keep sensitive information confidential
- Ability to appropriately prioritize and multitask
- Must have excellent, professional interpersonal & communication skills both written and verbal.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
