Job Description
The Production Planner executes planning, operational processes and decisions pertaining to the Bozeman production of waders and other products. They partner closely with the operations team to formulate a supply plan that maximizes both availability and inventory turns, while conforming to the constraints of production capacity. The planner provides effective support throughout the wader development and commercialization process, including the creation of part numbers, and the creation and maintenance of wader B.O.M.’s. Through immersion in the foundational operational infrastructure of the company, he/she executes these goals with strong attention to detail, sound operational and mathematical acumen, and effective communication with internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities and Priorities:

Develops Near term and long term production plan that maximizes availability, inventory turns, and manufacturing productivity

Creates Accurate B.O.M.’s, enabling reliable visibility into projected raw material inventory positions, and minimizing cycle count adjustments

Facilitates weekly production planning review and key inventory reviews with senior operation associates.

Participates in the creation, definition, and maintenance of key operational information and tools including:

Vendor specific inventory planning “Roll Forward” tools.

Product detail creation and updating including SKUs, and associated planning related parameters (lead time, minimum order quantity, size curve %, etc.).

Effectively partners with production management and product development, supporting on-time commercialization, and the effective implementation of production and raw material planning decisions

Consistently adheres to key timelines and milestones in Simms’ inventory planning, purchasing, and operational data infrastructure.

Effectively communicates accurate information across all Simms’ stakeholders and infrastructure, including Microsoft Navision.

Constantly seeks to improve workflows for greater efficiency and visibility.
