Production- Optical Manufacturing Tech Job at Laurel Hill Center
Description of Position:
The Lab Technician provides technical skills and supports within the production lab to ensure the production of quality eyewear within specifications of contracts and SWEEP policies.
SWEEP is seeking individuals with a documented disability to fill this position.
Essential Functions:
Prepare materials for production
Use production equipment to cut, refine, polish, coat, tint, and edge lenses to prescribed curves
Complete Quality Assurance at various stages of production
Assemble and align lenses into frames
Keep equipment and work area clean
Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to operate machinery safely within agency procedures, including safety rules and regulations
Ability to assemble products to standards
Strong fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
Ability to use small hand tools, including eyeglass screwdrivers
Ability to concentrate on repetitive tasks and attention to detail
Ability to work independently, including prioritizing tasks and monitoring errors
Ability to meet productivity requirements
Ability to work and communicate professionally with others in a confined work space
Ability to follow policies and procedures
Ability to tolerate demands, a changing work environment, and occasional unexpected events
Ability to meet Universal Expectations of Employment
Ability to perform physical requirements of the position, including lifting up to 30 pounds, standing, sitting, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, grasping, using fingers, tolerating strong odors, tolerating machinery noise, speaking, repetitive motion, extensive use of computer
Minimum Requirements:
18 years or older
High school diploma or equivalent
Preference for individuals with a documented, qualifying disability
Documentation of successful completion of a background and fingerprint check as specified by Oregon law, as well as a urinalysis drug screen
- Full vaccination for Covid-19
