PRODUCTION OPERATORS

2ND SHIFTS: 8 HOURS SHIFTS STARTING AT - 1:30 PM, 2 PM, 2:30 PM, 3 PM or 3:30 PM

STARTING PAY RANGE: $16.10 - $18.00 (Dependent on Experience Level)

SUMMARY:

Production Operators are responsible for the following processes: ingredients prep, mixing, cooking, and final packaging for Teasdale's food products. This can include raw material preparations, setting up, monitoring, and maintaining equipment and workflows used in our food production lines.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Changes boxes print and assigns job, item code and letter change.
• Monitors line for pop-ups and dented or scratched lids.
• Monitors jars for high or low label placement.
• Monitors jars for legible date codes.
• Packs finished product into box trays according to the defined schedule.
• Places case packs onto pallets according to specifications.
• Must record the number of cases per pallet and batch.
• Fills in and places correct pallet tags to each finished pallet.
• Performs case audits when assigned.

• Move products, materials, or equipment between work areas.
• Inspect food products and follow (FIFO - first in first) out rotation of ingredients.
• Measure and weigh ingredients.
• Record operational or production data.
• Operate pumping systems.
• Follow work orders and instructions on recipe cards.
• Operate roasters, chopper, and other food processing equipment.
• Use of handheld scan gun to issue material to jobs and move inventory in DEACOM.

• Operate 300-gallon steam jacketed kettle.
• Read work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or process requirements.
• Adjust valves to control flow of production materials.
• Adjust valves to regulate flow of steam and steam flow time and temperature.
• Operate pumps and connect hoses.
• Operate MTC Column Dumper to batch ingredients into kettles.
• Rinses, cleans kettles, and flushes lines with water.
• Notifies supervisor of equipment repair or maintenance needs.
• Moves products, materials, or equipment between work areas.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred or willingness to learn and be trained required.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to problem solve and use manual dexterity skills.
• Physical strength and stamina are required in working with raw materials on a production floor.
• Must lift 50-65 pounds up to four feet high without assistance.
• Required to bend, stoop, pull, and push in the performance of job duties.
• Responsible for a clean and safe working environment always.
• Follows Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Assists other areas when needed.
• Performs other job duties as necessary.
