Production Manager – Chicago, IL
Ionbond is seeking a hands-on, energetic Production Manager who will be responsible for managing a diverse team of production employees in our PVD coating operations. The primary goal will be to achieve the best service for customers by optimizing production schedules, properly organizing staff, and improving workflow. This key position has an important role to support, direct, train, and assist the Production Team in an inspirational manner. The perfect candidate will deliver high quality, safety, compliance, on-time delivery, & customer satisfaction to ensure the proper Ionbond™ family of coatings and services are applied. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.

What defines this job?
- Management of the production staff and production processes under instruction of the Plant Manager to ensure that customers products of a PVD operation are processed in an efficient manner.
- Scheduling customer orders via the use of an ERP system.
- Help ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist the Plant Manager in the recruitment, hiring, and training of employees.
- Help identify employees for promotion and promote respectful relationships throughout the plant.
- Contribute to identifying and implementing of value-adding strategies and techniques.
- Maintain a clean environment for all workers, implementing and promoting 5S and other continuous improvement principles within the facility.
- Compiles and analyses production records.
- Other duties as assigned
What do we ask?
The preferred candidate will have earned a degree from an accredited college; High School diploma is required minimum education. Six to eight years’ experience working in industrial or manufacturing operations, coating experience preferred but not required. Possess excellent employee coaching, development, and motivation skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Knowledge of production planning processes and production planning skills. Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with an understanding of machine controls, instrumentation, and basic machine maintenance. Proficient use of PC and related software, including Microsoft Office. The preferred candidate is able to deal with complex issues in a fast-paced setting. Must be eligible to work in the U.S and pass a background check/physical exam.
