SUMMARY
The role of the Production Manager is to plan, coordinate, organize and control production of our capital equipment machines, the Pixid family. Kasalis is a leader in advanced manufacturing capital equipment for camera module and laser manufacturing for automotive autonomous driving cameras, automotive LiDAR systems, and consumer products. It is a part of the US-based Fortune 200 company, Jabil Inc. Kasalis is based in Burlington, Massachusetts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Planning and scheduling production activities and supervising the production process.
  • Ensuring the effective management of the production area.
  • Continues process improvement on the flow.
  • Requires a broad knowledge of Manufacturing Practices, Assembly Prints, Bill of Materials to be able to create Manufacturing ready documentation such as S.O.E.'s (Sequence of Events) and Assembly Process Workflow.

  • Provides technical direction and on-the-job training to production staff.

  • Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates the manufacturing engineering portion of the system build.

  • Prepares and/or modifies work instructions, BOM structures, and training curriculum.

  • Ensures proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication on projects.

  • Requires contact with Customers, vendor representatives. Attends and participates in Customer meetings.

  • Confers with engineers, technicians, customers, and others to discuss best practices in an effort to streamline build processes and procedures.

  • Inspects completed systems; partners with Manufacturing and Quality organizations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.

  • Supports project production efforts to assure projects are completed on time and within budget.

  • Investigates customer or internal issues determines the nature and extent of the problem, and recommends corrective actions.

  • Assists in cost estimations and development of capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs.

  • Evaluates and process Engineering Change Orders.

  • Create and maintain an effective and well-trained workforce.

Lead required training activities
  • Implement improved assembly policies and procedures.
  • Lead quality improvement efforts including spot audits, root-cause analysis and implementation of remedial actions.
  • Defining and ensuring high quality standards are met.
  • Estimating production costs.
  • Monitoring production performance, schedule, and quality.
  • Communicating the real time performance, schedule, and quality to the required personnel.
  • Selecting and maintaining equipments, supervising product standards and enforcing quality control programs.
  • Working with managers effectively to execute the policies and goals of the organization.
  • Supervising and inspiring team of workers and reviewing the work performance of the subordinates.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 - 8 years of experience in related manufacturing/ production position, preferably in capital equipment or related industry

  • Working knowledge of quick-turn, engineer-to-order environment

  • Familiarity with manufacturing capital equipment (automation, semiconductor, etc.).

  • Technical degree or background is preferred.

  • Lean Manufacturing Principles, Six Sigma Greenbelt preferred.
  • Familiarity with SAP and ERP systems

  • Ability to grasp complex concepts easily and act decisively
  • Excellent planning and organization skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong familiarity with Project management software such as Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word.
