Production Fixture Handler Job at Allied Maker
Production fixture handlers are critical to getting the handcrafted lighting fixtures that are crafted in our design factory into the hands of our clients worldwide. As a Fixture Handler, you are the last stage of production, ensuring that the fixtures that took weeks to make are wrapped and have their final components included with each lighting fixture we produce, such as bulbs, mounting hardware, and adapters. You will carefully prepare each lighting fixture for the journey it will make to its final destination, whether local or around the world. Our studio is in an exciting period of growth and development as our work continues to gain a greater clientele and grow the business continually.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn to handle brass, wood and glass components
- Learn to protect the various elements with the materials we have discovered work best for the various shapes we carry
- Learn about bulbs, screws and hardware associated with our lighting
- Help keep track of orders in progress in conjunction with our software
- Wrap, pack and label all lighting fixtures with their appropriate information
- Frequent lifting and lots of movement required for this job - this position involves standing & moving all-day
- Accuracy is required to match lighting fixture bill of materials (BOM) to the build of the fixture to ensure the correct match
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Workshop, Art Studio or Factory Experience (+1 year)
- High school diploma or GED (minimum)
- Frequent lifting and carrying of 30-40lbs, occasional lifting and carrying up to 50lbs, occasional lifting up to 75lbs working with one or more other team members where communication and teamwork is essential
- Occasional to frequent lifting and carrying of glass, wood, brass components as well as full lighting fixtures
- Constant walking, standing, twisting, bending, and grasping with hands
- Ability to read a tape measure and utilize basic arithmetic skills
- Be able to work in a workshop environment (it is a creative one but still a workshop!)
