Production Engineer – Duncan, South Carolina

What defines this job?

  • Responsible for quality management including audit participation, CARs, and 8D participation
  • Assist regional quality management during internal audits, SGS ISO certification audits and follow up on all customer complaints
  • Overall plant document control including creating and/or updating work instructions, operating procedures and related forms
  • Maintain the calibration database and certs; ensure calibrations are up to date on all equipment
  • Provide leadership on project management including CER submittals, safety improvement projects & oversee equipment installations
  • Work closely with management and team to develop continuous improvement and 5S program in facility for day to day operations
  • Perform related duties as apparent or assigned

What do we ask?

The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Science/Metallurgy, or Plasma Physics. Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a production manufacturing environment, vacuum coating field with emphasis in metallurgical applications is preferred. Strong problem-solving skills using industry standards such as 8D and CARs. The preferred candidate will have working knowledge of ISO 90001 quality standards with experience working on internal and external audits. Experience leading small to medium sized projects using Project Management tools. Strong communication skills; both verbal and written. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, organization, and time management skills. Able to travel throughout the U.S. and/or internationally as needed (minimally, 10%.) Able to pass a background check, physical exam and be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
