Technical Support Manager

We are in search of a Technical Support Manager to manage a team with comprehensive understanding of customer applications for Lake Shore products to continue providing best in class technical support and maintain Lake Shore’s brand equity. This individual will manage the resolution of technical issues for users of company products, design and implement processes aimed at improving the technical support function and develop our support team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage, direct, guide and support the Technical Support team members
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of customer applications, create and organize an application knowledge data base accessible to others
• Maintain comprehensive trip reports and follow through with all action items
• Serve as technical point contact for sales on complex product and application questions
• Contribute application-based insight, Identify and define emerging application-based opportunities
• Propose product improvements
• Consults occasionally with users to understand and clarify their expectations of the products and communicate resolution steps and timelines
• Manages workflow, staffing, and schedules to meet operational goals, as agreed upon with management and in accordance with the budget

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in science, physics, or electrical or materials engineering required
• 10+ years of experience in application or technical support in a similar technology field

Preferred:

• Master's degree in science, physics, or electrical or materials engineering preferred
