NOTE: This is an onsite position located in Buford, Georgia.

Rad Source Technologies is looking for a Product Development Engineer to join the Engineering Team. This is a dynamic role that works with cross functional teams to develop and commercialize new products. This individual is responsible for commercializing new products through all phases of the development cycle including but not limited to design inputs, project plans, verifications and validation testing, design transfer and risk management.

Essential Functions:

  • Translate the functional, aesthetics and commercial product design requirements into technical concepts and solutions using QFD principles
  • Develop project plans in accordance with Product Roadmaps
  • Report status of active projects.
  • Organize and assign work within the project teams.
  • Develop, update and maintain DFMEA’s and help in the development of PFMEA’s and the process control plans.
  • Formulate and document product specifications
  • Safeguard product performance, reliability and functionality.
  • Develop verification and validation plans
  • Develop test methods and procedures that are not covered by recognized agency requirements. Administer and carry out test programs with lab technicians and team engineers.
  • Analyze and interpret test data. Write corresponding test report.
  • Familiarity of CAD programs to create product concepts
  • Oversee pilot, prototype and first production builds of developed systems.
  • Interfaces with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assembly.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  • ·Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical support.
  • Research and analyze design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Prior product commercialization experience from concept to launch
  • Phases & Gates knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to use problem solving methods and techniques
  • Good working knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality control protocols
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience with 3D modeling software

Additional:

  • Prefer knowledge of x-ray producing devices, radiation shielded enclosure, x-ray imaging devices, radiation detectors and science of materials.
  • Perform other duties as required.
