Summary of Duties:

Development and maintenance of 3D models for RK Mission Critical Products and detailed manufacturing drawing creations

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Development and maintenance of 3D models for RK Mission Critical products.
• Development and maintenance of product drawings to be utilized by various parties for the purpose of fabrication, purchasing, and assembly.
• Development and maintenance of electrical drawings (one-lines, schematics, layouts, etc) under the specifications of the Electrical Engineer.
• Peer-review other designers’ work for manufacturability, readability, and formatting.
• Uphold RK Mission Critical documentation and design & development standards and practices as well as product/customer specifications.
• Become a subject matter expert on the design of RK Mission Critical products.
• Take input from Product Engineers to modify, create, or clarify design details to improve the ease of manufacturability.
• Coordinate the creation of fixtures, templates, and other manufacturing tools to help limit production labor and facilitate a more consistent product.
• Utilize Engineering bills of materials to inform and update the model updating as Engineering Change Notices dictate.
• Document as-built drawings and incorporate redlines into new product generations
• Review shop operations for opportunities to simplify workflow and material Assisting AP with PO to invoice by matching and correcting problems.
• Maintain the goal of zero long-term inventories.

Accountability:

• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• All employees are accountable for safety and health and are empowered to stop work if an unsafe condition is present. Employees should immediately notify their supervisor so that the hazard may be corrected.
• RK Mission Critical employees and subcontractors are required to implement and maintain all safety and health systems practices including the training requirement of RK Industries Orientation.

Minimum Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and a variety of office equipment.
• Occasionally may need to reach, stoop, or kneel.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s/Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred; will accept minimum 3 years manufacturing design experience with no formal education. Experience with modular buildings and electrical systems is a plus.
• Works in conjunction with a Product Engineer and Product Manager to develop an RK Mission Critical product. Reports to the Engineering Manager.
• Experience incorporating an Engineered BOM into a 3D model.
• Experience with redline incorporation and product development process.
