Position Overview:
The Procurement Manager is responsible for executing on strategic and operational procurement initiatives for Oldcastle Infrastructure. The incumbent will help identify, plan, and execute on value creating opportunities within the procurement strategy, that are consistent with the company’s culture, strategic business objectives and continuous improvement / cost management efforts.
As a key member of Supply Chain leadership, the incumbent will lead a team of Buyers to execute on strategic purchases based on demand generated through the ERP, and through daily/weekly interactions with local site operations and commercial teams. The Procurement Manager will work with business leaders to communicate strategy and gain support for initiatives that achieve year over year improvements in input cost, supplier quality, and organizational performance. The incumbent will execute on the group and corporate objectives within the Business Performance team.
Responsibilities:
Effectively communicate CRH - Oldcastle strategy to team of Buyers. Challenge and motivate team to execute strategy while holding self and others accountable to the plan.Define and implement standardized purchasing processes / systems to leverage procurement volumes and resources. Establish KPI’s for procurement and supplier performance.
Assist in identifying and executing sourcing opportunities to improve Business financial performance.
Analyze current procurement related activities/processes and identify opportunities for enhancement.
Regularly engage with business leadership to drive adoption and sustainability of enterprise initiatives including centralized purchasing, SKU and vendor standardization, national/global sourcing, and other enterprise initiatives.
Assist with sourcing negotiations, supplier performance feedback, and drive alignment of CRH Group Procurement Category Programs.
Ensure service levels are achieved and that continuous improvement efforts are implemented locally and nationally. Be point of escalation for team, plant, and suppliers.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or related degree or the equivalent in relevant experience.4+ years experience preferred in the procurement / strategic sourcing / category management field.
Experience establishing business processes, managing performance, driving organizational change preferred.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
Proven record of procurement and cost management across goods and services and understanding of the entire procurement cycle.Strong leadership skills with the ability to maintain a wide range of multi-site relationships at all levels of the organization and the ability to effectively define and manage change.
Demonstrated ability to get positive results through influence, persuasion, leadership, presentations, training, and group facilitation skills.
Ability to think strategically with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
High ethical standards.
Thorough understanding of financial management and procurement’s impact on results.
