**Great opportunity for a Process Engineer looking to get into a Lead/Management Role**
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops and drives continuous improvements in safety, production processes and personnel.
- Responsible for the overall safety performance of process departmental staff. An active participant and advocate for the plant safety programs.
- Develops, executes, and maintains business process improvement projects.
- Monitors the results of improvement projects and composes reports.
- Identify and evaluate key risk areas and recommend improvements.
- Develop and track key metrics to support continuous improvement efforts and cost control.
- Coordinates studies of operational and performance data and identifies opportunities to align business processes with improved technology
- Supports the environmental compliance for plant production, material handling and WWTP.
- Responsible for the implementation of on time production improvements of quality product.
- Responsible for the completion of the QIP objectives, MBO requirements and other organizational goals as needed.
- Provide for the professional management, mentoring and development of the onsite Process Engineers, Environmental Engineer, Maintenance Superintendent, and other reports.
- Verify and assure that job responsibilities are defined and communicated
- Prepare and review performance standards and performance annually
- Create action plans for improvements in performance.
- Participate in annual capital budget planning and approval process.
- Maintain clear lines of communication with various Cedartown, Corporate, and Customer personnel.
- Provide and document proper training for subordinates in the areas of safety, environmental, processes, and work procedures.
- For onsite staff develop them to be able to widen their focus and look forward in their jobs to plan the successful timely attainment of their KPIs and the company’s goals.
- Support positive Union – Management relations and communications.
- Support overall plant objectives by accepting assignment and working with plant peers.
SKILLS:
- Technical expertise – it’s essential for process improvement managers to have a firm understanding of process improvement techniques and experience applying these if they are to make organizational changes, i.e., Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban, VSM, FMEA, etc.…
- Organization skills – process improvement managers show the way for both the planning and implementation stages of multiple projects, so they must be organized and committed to meeting deadlines
- Leadership skills – process improvement managers are coaches and company champions, inspiring other team members to give their best effort and setting the direction for many initiatives
- Analytical thinking – process improvement managers critically evaluate individual processes and projects, then synthesize their insights to arrive at a summary of overall organizational status
- Communication skills – being able to speak, listen, and write well is important, as process improvement managers often hold presentations, facilitate meetings and trainings, and create reports
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
B.S. degree in engineering, hard sciences, business, or a closely related field and/or at least 5 years progressive experience working with production, processes, continuous improvement or a closely aligned profession in an industrial setting.
