Process Controls Production Support, Engineering & Tech Support Speci Job at Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC
SRNS is seeking to hire a Process Control/Instrumentation Engineering Technical Specialist. This position provides hardware, network, and limited software support for the Process Control & Automation Engineering (PC&AE) department. PC&AE provides process automation solutions to support the safe, secure, and effective operations for the Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) facilities.
Responsibilities Include:
Perform responsibilities by assisting higher level technicians and engineers, by standardized work methods or by receiving explicit instructions. Technical adequacy is reviewed with work in progress or soon after completion. Develop, coordinate and monitor technical aspects of facility operations including, but not limited to: construction work schedules, design engineering outputs, work packages, process data, engineering schedules, maintenance, surveillance testing, and training. Develop and maintain computerized databases related to the above operations. Provide general technical or engineering design support. Extract, compile and formulate data. Prepare and review engineering documentation, including layout drawings, standards and specifications. Perform basic algebraic calculations. Track temporary modifications to facilities and insure accuracy of associated documentation. Perform routine equipment, facility, or area walk downs to conduct equipment maintenance inspections while documenting equipment and facility measurement control data, configuration, and other equipment details to ensure safe and efficient equipment and process operation. May function in a variety of coordinator roles that typically support the technical aspects of emergency, fire, security, safety, environmental, regulatory compliance, nuclear material accountability, training, work control, engineering schedules, and maintenance surveillance among others.

High School Diploma, GED, or other equivalent State Credential
Other Required Qualifications
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
Associates degree in a electronic instrumentation, electronic technology, or mechanical area is preferred.
Ability to read P&IDs, electrical schematics, and simple ladder logic.
Conceptual understanding of general process control related field equipment (valves, pumps, VFDs, etc.)
Practical experience in facility production operations.
Basic understanding and familiarity with electrical and mechanical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics and various computer applications may be required depending upon the position and specific duties.
Conceptual understanding of various facility processes, systems, and equipment. Working knowledge of site work control procedures and practices for both maintenance and operations.
General understanding of work hazards, safety programs, operating configuration and lockout/hold identification .

Responsibilities Include:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and replace existing process control hardware and PLC equipment.
- Assist with developing upgrades for existing process control equipment, DCS, PLCs, and networks.
