The Law Office of Philip A. King, LLC, an estate planning and probate law firm located at 2529 Oakstone Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43231, is seeking a full-time Paralegal to join the practice. The Law Office of Philip A, King is a small law firm in growth mode and the right candidate will have an opportunity to grow along with the firm. This position reports to one or more of the attorneys at the firm.

Job Description:

• Gathering information needed to prepare legal documents in Probate, Guardianship and Estate Planning matters.
• Drafting letters and documents in Probate, Guardianship and Estate Planning matters.
• Logging matter information and organizing client files.
• Calendaring (Scheduling) events.
• Researching court rules and Ohio laws related to Probate, Guardianship and Estate Planning matters.
• Helping attorneys prepare cases for hearings.
• Referring all matter questions from client and third-parties to attorney.
• Communicating with client and third-parties under attorney’s direction.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Paralegal will have completed a course of study offered by a college or university especially for Paralegals, and will possess a certification as a trained paralegal.
• A paralegal must be competent in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• A paralegal must be well organized. This person is usually 10 minutes early and cannot stand a cluttered workspace. A paralegal must also be very confident in communicating with others in a professional manner. This person is not someone who can be intimidated by others on the phone or afraid to call someone multiple times.
• A Paralegal should have experience in a law firm. Experience in probate and/or estate planning matters will be given preference.
