Wage Range: $20.48 to $26.06 hourly; depending on number of years of transferrable experience and internal equity

Division and Program Overview:
HIV Services provides testing, care coordination, treatment case management and preventative services for clients exposed to or living with HIV.
Job Summary:
The Prevention Health Specialist promotes health within Yellowstone County by providing HIV and Hep C testing for high risk clients. Delivers education on safe sex practices and provides and coordinates referrals to preventive services. The work is performed with integrity and innovation to ensure a high level of customer service delivery.
Essential Functions/Major Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Prevention Health Services
- Perform work with the strict knowledge and understanding of protected sensitive patient health information (HIPAA) and confidentiality.
- Interview and gather health information using interpersonal and cultural sensitivity skills.
- Respond to questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner.
- Participate in emergency preparedness trainings, exercise and response activities.
- Participate in program quality improvement projects.
- Attend meetings, conferences, workshops and training sessions to become and remain current in the principles, practices and new development in assigned work areas.
B. HIV Services
- Performs HIV/Hep C testing on Riverstone Health’s campus and at a variety of outreach locations
- Promotes HIV testing and education and STD education within the Yellowstone Community
- Collects and reports data as needed
- Provides referrals of new positive HIV to the Ryan White program
- Refers clients for PrEP and PEP as need is identified
- Participates and coordinates in the Syringe Services Project
- Participates in quality improvement and emergency preparedness projects
- Develops and presents education as needed to community partners

Education and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Any combination of experience and training which provide the equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ Degree in health promotion, public health, healthcare administration, or related
- Two years of experience in health education, nonprofit services, health services, public education or other related fields preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Valid State of Montana Driver’s License in good standing, appropriate vehicle insurance and a vehicle in good working condition
- Required to obtain on the job training in ICS 100, 200, 700, 300 and 400.

- Computer literacy, in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge and understanding of protected sensitive patient health information (HIPAA) and confidentiality.
