Role Summary:

This purpose of this position is to set up and operate various upsetters and forging equipment used to perform the hot operations on Liner Bolts and to provide product of small pipe upset on both ends at the Forge Plant, Hot and Cold working press operations, the tong cell and the Small Shackle Bender. This position operates a variety of work centers typically consisting of induction heater paired with either an upsetter, multi-press, or bender.

Key Accountabilities:

• Set-up and operate upsetters, Multi-Press and small bender.
• Perform and document all quality checks required in these work centers.
• Change or replace tooling on all machines in these work centers as required.
• Wear proper personal protective equipment as required for this work center.
• Operators do their own set-ups.
• Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Competencies:

• Must be able to interpret documents such as manufacturing prints and work order packets.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Success Measures:

Ability to interpret drawings and work order packets to set-up equipment and run acceptable products.

Qualifications:

Must have the ability to read and understand Prints and work orders and measurement techniques. Most maintain a safe work environment, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.

Special Position Requirements:

1”, 2” & 3” upsetters, Etchells Multi-Forge, Induction Heaters, overhead crane, forklift, hydraulic stamp press, powered hoist, dial calipers and production gages.

Work Requirements:

Walking, sitting, and standing as required. Handling of product as required (up to 40 lbs.). Handling of jigs, dies, and fixtures as required.
Specific vision abilities required for this job including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
