Precast Concrete Production Manager Job at Rocky Mountain Precast - Guam
Rocky Mountain Precast, an employee-owned business, has an opening for a Production Manager at our precast concrete plant in Guam. We are seeking a team player that has the desire and motivation to take on a challenge in a unique location and environment. Rocky Mountain Precast manufactures all types of structural building products and some utility products.
Location
Guam is a US territory located in the Western Pacific Ocean close to Asia. It is a small (210 square miles) tropical island with a population of about 165,000.
General Purpose of Job
The Production Supervisor oversees and participates in the manufacturing of concrete products as determined by production schedules, forecasts, and work orders submitted via customer requests. The Production Supervisor ensures each task is completed in a safe manner within the allowed efficiency times.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Organize the work flow daily based on pour schedules and ensure each team in production is well informed of the daily tasks and deadlines set forth for the day.
Conduct daily production and safety meetings with crew leadmen and employees.
Ensure that complete fabrication of an entire product is accomplished by production personnel, enabling Quality Control personnel to provide an independent check of all work performed.
Evaluate and improve processes of production areas for efficiency, production standards, quality standards, and safety.
Participate in and oversee the concrete process, from beginning to end, directly or through subordinates and ensure the quality of the product.
Participate in and oversee the process for installing the correct size spacers, mesh, rebar, etc. in the appropriate locations of the form based on the shop drawings directly or through subordinates.
Participate in and oversee the stripping of forms, after concrete has cured, from concrete process and ensure products with place inserts, connectors, lifting pins/devices, etc. are constructed per shop drawings in preparation for post pour inspection either directly or through subordinates.
Ensure all employees’ in the department have been properly trained on manufacturing process, utilization of tools, safety, production demands, quality expectations, dependability expectations, and efficiency goals.
Ensure employees are on task as assigned and following set safety policies and guidelines.
Monitor the employee’s in and out punches and evaluate each employee for tardies, unscheduled absences, and/or abuse of time. Approve scheduled days off and ensure that department is fully operational prior to approval.
Serve as a role model for employees with regard to attendance, timeliness, loyalty, mutual respect and support for organizational teamwork and continuous improvement.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment for all employees.
Perform any other duties as directed by the Plant Manager.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
- Must be able to work in a plant construction environment with extended periods of walking and standing.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work 10H per day 6 days per week if necessary.
- Ability to work in extreme elements. Position requires being outdoors regularly in 90degree heat with very high humidity.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills
Education and Experience: * Should have minimum of 2 years experience as a supervisor in a precast concrete manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to ready and fully understand precast concrete shop drawings and manufacturing processes of precast and prestressed products.
- Must have excellent communication skills and solid computer software knowledge in MS Office.
Certifications: * American Concrete Institute (ACI) certification – Preferred
- PCI Level I / II – Preferred
- OSHA 10-Hour General Industry - Preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $80,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
