Job Summary: Assists the physician office in providing high quality, lower cost patient care while supporting the goals and standards of Premier Medical Associates.
Job Responsibilities & Duties:
- Register new patients and update existing patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information including personal and financial details.
- Answer the phone while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette.
- Optimize patients' satisfactions, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointment in person or by telephone.
- Facilitate patient flow by notifying the provider of patients' arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff.
- Ensure availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
- Maintain a safe, secure and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedure and complying with legal regulations.
- Update job knowledge by participating in company educational initiatives.
- Must possess emotional maturity and stability to approach highly stressful situations in a calm and rational manner.
- Work collaboratively with all members of the clinical care team and demonstrate respect for all colleagues.
- Adhere to ethical standards of conduct as well as applicable state and federal laws.
- May require to rotate shifts during office hours which may include evenings for some offices and an occasional Saturday.
- At least one year of medical front office experience of successful completion of a medical secretarial program.
