You will be responsible for all aspects of operation for the powder and wet coating department to safely meet quality and delivery requirements of internal customers. This role leads the daily work of the coating departments, including managing staff, planning and assigning work, implementing policies and procedures, and ensuring efficient work flow. This position is also responsible for ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of all coating equipment.

Essential Responsibilities

· Maintain a safe work environment; monitor and enforce all safety procedures, PPE, 5S, and housekeeping

· Coordinate the daily production of coated parts based on the needs from multiple departments and business units.

· Provides daily reports to the manager regarding operational issues or concerns that occurred during the shift; keeps manager informed of overall shift work outputs.

· Reviews work for accuracy, neatness, and conformance to production guidelines and quality and safety standards

· Recommends equipment upgrades, staffing adjustments, improvements in procedures and working conditions, and process modifications

· Maintains written and computer logs of process information or inspection results and provides necessary reports

· Provide guidance, communication, and consistency to the coating team on work standards.

· Provides reports and project updates and requested by the Operations Senior Leadership Team

· Manage employees in an effective manner by communicating goals, expectations, and holding them accountable for results.

· Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; tracking absenteeism and maintaining time keeping; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving grievances

· Bring new ideas and positive support to the current coating processes

· Initiate and/or provide technical assistance for production and maintenance issues, both daily and long term

· Utilize process information systems to extract/analyze data

· Manage departmental budgets and reduce cost year over year.

· Provide training for coating operators

· Works with Engineering and Maintenance to solve process and/or equipment issues

Qualifications/Requirements

· Bachelor’s Degree. Preferable degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or related field.

· A minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing management.

· Demonstrate direct experience in industrial coating operations (Wet and or Powder Coating) or plating is preferred

· Experience working within Operational enterprise system (Oracle, SAP, etc.) to manage Raw material, Work in process, Finished goods material, QA, Packing, Closing

· Managing Customer relationships

· Experience using Nordson ColorMax automated powder coating booths preferred

· Ability to read drawings, blue prints, engineering instructions, and other instructions to determine requirements

· Possess the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, both hourly and management.

· Effective problem solving skills.

· Basic computer skills including: at minimum, be adept in use of MS Office

· Required to read, write and speak English with good command of the language, and use simple math
