Hours: M-TH: 5 AM – 3:30 PM; Overtime on Fri. 5 AM – 12 PM

Job Summary: The Polish Line 47 Operator is responsible for operating the Polish Line according to pre-determined polish recipes and settings; you will also be responsible for operating the automatic loading and unloading machine.

What you’ll be doing:

• Inspecting the slab to verify its thickness and flatness
• Using a hammer and chisel to remove damaged portions of stone
• Loading the polish line by calibrating and using the automatic loading machine
• Setting the polish head and brick sequence per the recipe for specific slabs being polished
• Monitoring the polish machines during operation to adjust line speed for optimal performance
• Unloading the polish line using the automatic unloading machine and verifying the slabs are unloaded onto the correct L-frame
• Securing slabs on L-frames with a handheld banding machine

Required Skills and Knowledge:

• Must be able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another
• Must be able to work independently
• Must have excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Must be mechanically inclined
• Must have general math skills
• Must be able to read work orders or production tickets, which may include dimensional drawings
• Must be able to read a tape measure, imperial and metric.
