Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation with Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field related to the job, plus five (5) years of experience in a field related to the job, including two (2) years of which were in a supervisory, project, or program management capacity.
- Graduation with a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for the required experience of up to two (2) years.

Position Overview
The City of Austin Office of Civil Rights enforces civil rights ordinances and federal regulations in Austin. The Policy Compliance Consultant will be responsible for the design, development, implementation and coordination of the Office of Civil Rights Regulatory Compliance Review Program to include: (1) Title VI assessments; (2) the design, development, implementation and coordination of the Office’s Dispute Resolution Program (Persuasion, Conciliation and Mediation) and Administrative Adjudication Program to ensure compliance of civil rights enforcement efforts per state law, city ordinance and federal regulations. 1. Develops and maintains relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to carry out the mission of OCR. 2. Develops Requests for Proposals as needed to procure services of consultants and other experts as needed. 3. Conducts research on Civil Rights compliance and keeps executive staff apprised of new developments. 4. Develops presentations for City Council, Council Committees and others as needed. 5. Manages Title VI compliance coordinating with internal and external stakeholders including state and federal agencies. 6. Research best practices and make recommendations for new programs, policies and ordinances. 7. Coordinate as needed with Financial services and maintain a record of all OCR contracts. 8. Conduct feasibility analysis of new ordinances.

CITY OF AUSTIN DRIVER SAFETY STANDARDS PROGRAM:
- Applicant is at least 18 years of age.
- Applicant has a current valid driver license with the appropriate license and endorsements for the type of vehicle(s) to be operated. Or if stated in the minimum qualifications, must be able to obtain the required license within 90 days and the required endorsements within 120 days of employment, depending on the position.

$34.86 – $44.45

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in alternative dispute resolution.
- Experience being the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in civil rights compliance.
- Has attained a Mediation Certificate.
- Ability to travel to more than one work location.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

- Conducts systematic analysis of policy issues and provides findings through clear and concise written reports.

- Develops, manages, and monitors the program budget and associated projects and provides financial information.
- Determines program goals, objectives, and resource requirements.
- Supports literature review and secondary analyses of research, theory, and relevant practices.
- Manages, coordinates, implements, and monitors projects associated with assigned programs.
- Effectively communicates the body of work to internal and external customers.
- Delivers presentations to stakeholders, Boards and Commissions, City Council Committees, City Council, conferences, internal audiences, and the general public.
