The Cutler Institute at the University of Southern Maine is pleased to announce an opening for a full-time Policy Associate I: Child Welfare Workforce Trainer to support grant-funded initiatives.
This position will provide training and support to a statewide training initiative funded by Maine DHHS. The project team works to build the capacity of Maine’s child welfare agency through high quality training design and delivery and policy revision. This position will provide training and training support as part of a dynamic team helping to support the state’s child welfare workforce in effectively serving children, youth, and families.
The Policy Associate I: Child Welfare Workforce Trainer will facilitate select content in the Foundations child welfare training as well as assist with planning and coordination with key partners. The Associate will work in partnership with Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) staff. Fidelity to both the curriculum and consistency across the statewide training program are critical, requiring ongoing coordination with the full training team, OCFS staff, and evaluation/CQI staff.
This is a grant funded full-time position with a starting annual salary up to $52,000 commensurate with experience.

- Master's degree and five years of relevant professional experience; or bachelor's degree and seven years’ experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with training design and delivery.
- Experience in managing components of projects and the ability to work on multiple projects. simultaneously.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to provide own transportation (fully insured vehicle), provide proof of a valid driver’s license, and compliance with Maine law regarding vehicle insurance.
