Position Summary
This is a hybrid or remote position located in Irvine, California.
Thales is looking for a Project Management Office (PMO) Manager to help serve as the backbone of Program Management by instituting and managing a variety of project planning, monitoring and control processes and support information that are in alignment with the organization’s strategic initiatives/objectives. Established processes and practices must be tangible, repeatable and controlled that yield long-term benefits, yet flexible enough to change with organization’s strategic shifts. The PMO Manager institutionalizes key PMO elements, i.e., governance, reusability, transparency delivery support and traceability as well as communicating results to earn executive support and confidence.
In this position, you are responsible for project scheduling and resource planning as an experienced Primavera tool user. Liaison with Customer Delivery, Product Delivery, PMO, Finance, Engineering and Operations to develop and maintain project schedules, resources and financials (EAC, ETC, COGS, OI, GM, Cash, etc.). Establishes and maintains project data in various Thales tools (e.g., Primavera, PMBI, SAP, JIRA, DeviProp, Excel, PowerBI, etc.), serve as a mentor/coach. This role also involves working with other Thales entities globally, i.e., Thales Global Services, NORAM, etc. Other duties include project monitoring and control support that align with the goals and objectives of projects.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Able to lead transformational/continuous improvement initiatives, i.e., PMO project involving processes, tools, etc.
- A guardian of PMO/Program Management processes, tools, templates, forms, checklists, etc.
- Governance: Ensure decisions are taken by the right personnel. Includes audit/peer reviews, development of a variety of project processes, structures ensuring accountability. Possesses a general understanding of Chorus 2.0, 5.2 Manage Project.
- Reusability: Help minimize/stop others from “reinventing the wheel”, e.g., central point for templates, best practices, etc.
- Transparency: Provides relevant information that is accurate to support effective decision making.
- Delivery support: Help make it easy for others to do their jobs, i.e., training, mentoring, etc.
- Traceability: Help manage project relevant documentation, history and organizational knowledge.
- Develop and maintain processes/practices, tools, templates and metrics.
- Works with Finance to manage project financial data. It will encompass extracting data from SAP and Primavera, i.e., contract/billing plan (revenue forecast), shipset information, PMBI data, etc.
- Support department audits.
- Encourage/enforce the use of processes/practices.
- Support project scheduling and resource planning.
- Responsible for analyzing business data and performance to improve decision-making within the organization.
- Detailed oriented and experienced in developing schedules, i.e., critical paths, resource loaded, project baselines and logic driven.
- Proactively obtain input from all project team members to support ongoing analysis and forecasting relative to impacts on completion dates, float erosion, and updates to project ETC.
- Assist with Primavera tool administration, troubleshooting and training.
- Participate in project meetings (IPT, IPR, CPR, etc.) including audit/peer reviews.
- Assist in the preparation for project reviews by updating Project Dashboards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain PMO/Program Management processes, tools, templates, forms, checklists, metrics, etc.
- Manage project relevant documentation, history and organizational knowledge.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business/Finance or Engineering or related field or 8+ years of work related experience.
- Proficient in using Primavera and SAP or comparable tool.
- Experience working with Program Management and Finance.
- PMP or IPMA certification a plus.
- Highly proficient in operating MS Excel.
- Proficient in operating MS Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Special Position Requirements
Schedule:
Weekdays M-F, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Schedule flexibility may be coordinated with the supervisor, e.g., commuting for child care, etc.
Physical Environment:
Office environment when working on-site at Thales. Computer (PC) and mobile phone work activity. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The employee must regularly lift up to 10 pounds and/or move up to 25 pounds. General vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The anticipated TTC range for this role is $110,440.48 - $220,880.97 USD Annual . The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, state, or federal law.
