Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner Job at Advanced Healthcare Center
Multi-Discipline health care clinic located 40 miles from the southeast coast in Jesup Georgia, is now hiring for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
With the supervision of our Medical Director, the PA/NP will perform complete histories and physicals on adult patients to establish and record the patient's current health status, to develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan, and to provide continuing medical care. The role will provide outpatient based care to patients with complex, possibly acute and chronic health conditions.
The PA/NP will practice in a setting that requires the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. Conducts thorough medical histories, performs complete physical examinations (where indicated), initiates appropriate lab, radiology tests or other special tests required for evaluation of illness, and scrutinizes lab data on new and former clinic patients to establish a record of the patient's current health status and to develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan with direct review by our physician.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Must be able to work with autonomy within state law, under direction of supervising physician.
- Performs and interprets, at least to the point of recognizing deviations from normal, common laboratory, radiological, and other routine diagnostic procedures used to identify pathophysiologic processes.
- Performs routine procedures such as trigger point and major joint injections.
- Educates patients regarding their disease, treatments, related drug and treatment side effects and hazards.
- Manage chronic medication for patients while following all State and Federal Compliance Guidelines.
- Assists with record keeping, completes appropriate patient medical chart documentation, and transcribes lab data and routine correspondence, as directed and reviewed by physician.
- Refers patients to physicians as appropriate for consultation or for specialized health resources and treatment.
- Ensures continuity of care by serving as a liaison between patient and other members of the multi‐disciplinary care team or with other specialty areas as necessary.
- Participates in quality monitoring through the review of records and treatment plans for patient outcomes on a periodic basis to assure quality care.
- Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior. Demonstrates compassion and professionalism and a commitment to excellent patient care.
Ability to effectively build and manage relationships with our patient community is critical to the success of our practice. Must be able to work within the scope of practice guidelines and appropriately direct patients for follow-up care as their healthcare needs dictate.
Experience is preferred but open to train new graduates with a specific and serious interest in the Spine and Musculoskeletal specialty.
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
- Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant with a degree in Physician Assistant Studies or Nurse Practitioner degree.
- Willing to train an enthusiastic, hardworking candidate
- Must have current state (Georgia) licensure and physician assistant or Nurse Practitioner certification
- Must have prescriptive authority for licensure and current DEA license to prescribe
- Current BLS license
- Demonstrated competency and the ability to perform advanced assessment, diagnosis and treatment plan development and invasive procedures as per clinical privileges.
Communication Skills:
Strong customer service skills. Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to maintain good relationships with providers and coworkers. Ability to effectively give and receive information from patients, providers and other clinic employees.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to manage time efficiently.
Computer Skills:
Prior experience with EMR required. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office. PC proficiency and data entry skills.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and occasionally sit. The employee is occasionally required to walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
