The C. W. Williams Community Health Center, Inc. is a Private 501(c) (3) Not-For-Profit FQHC located in Charlotte, NC. We are governed by a 9-25-member Voluntary Board of Directors. In 1981, Dr. Williams, along with Peggy Beckwith, founder of the local Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation, Dr. John Murphy, a local dentist, and Rowe “Jack” Motley, the first African-American County Commissioner, petitioned the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to create The C.W. Williams Community Health Center, Inc. The state of the art, newly constructed center is in a medically underserved area of Charlotte.

The C.W. Williams Community Health Center, Inc. was the only FQHC in Mecklenburg County and continues to be an Anchor and Force in the community that is committed to the highest quality Primary and Preventive Care services and Health Education to all community and surrounding community residents. This is accomplished in an atmosphere of dignity and respect as we treat all patients with a truly caring attitude. CWWCHC will always be aware of the changing needs of the community and strive to be responsive to those needs. We will promote policies and procedures that uphold a continuum of care for all. Position Summary

Seeking an exemplary Physician’s Assistant to take advantage of the opportunity to join a patient focused Primary care practice where you will have the potential to serve the patients in our community. You will be able to make a difference in eliminating health disparities as well as help to make a difference in your patients’ lives.

Essential Functions

  • Evaluates and treats patients within practice parameters
  • Order appropriate tests, treatment and provide counseling, as needed
  • Review patient records to develop comprehensive medical status reports
  • Completes physical exams and records pertinent data in acceptable medical forms
  • Makes medical diagnoses and institutes therapy or refers patient to the appropriate provider
  • Obtains and interprets patient data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, as needed
  • Develops and implements action plan
  • Provides instructions and guidance regarding medical care matters to patients
  • Performs or assists with routine medical techniques and procedures
  • Performs other jobs-related duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school/college of Physician Assistants required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • CPR or BLS required
  • Physician Assistant (PA) licensure in state of practice required
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of basic medical procedures
  • Strong computer skills
  • Good organizational skills

Preferred:

Bilingual (English and Spanish) with experience serving a multinational, multiracial population
