Pharmacy Technician Job at Hillsdale Hospital
Work Schedule
The hospital pharmacy is open Monday - Friday 9am-9pm, Saturday and Sunday 8am-8pm. Technicians work 40 hours per week on a rotating schedule which includes every 5th weekend.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Current pharmacy technician license required
- Previous hospital-based pharmacy experience preferred
- Basic math, computer, and telephone skills are necessary; medical terminology helpful
- Manual dexterity, mobility and good visual acuity required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (available through Hillsdale Hospital)
Responsibilities
- Count, package and label unit dose and bulk medication for inspection by pharmacist
- Replenish floor stock and distribute medications to nursing units
- Assist pharmacist in filling orders and prepare labels including oral dosage forms and admixture of sterile products
- Order, receive and store pharmacy materials
- Maintain inventory, order and cleanliness of storage area including the removal of outdated inventory
- Use vendor websites to verify availability and pricing
- Perform accounting tasks such as cash register deposits and end of month reports
- Maintain department records, reports and files
